Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free Identified as Only Product to Score a Perfect 100% in Removal and Repair Endurance Test

10 month long research by AV-TEST shows Malwarebytes Free to be the most effective software in remediating all threats in 60 infection scenarios

SAN JOSE, Calif: July 29, 2014 – Malwarebytes, the company founded to protect people and businesses from advanced online threats, has today been singled out for an industry-leading accomplishment.  A test carried out by an independent lab has identified Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free as the only product to achieve a perfect 100% score in a 10-month-long malware removal and repair endurance test.

The study, conducted by independent malware lab AV-TEST (www.av-test.org) between September 2013 and June 2014, compared the remediation performance of 17 top security products and remediation tools. The analysis evaluated the ability to remove numerous pieces of malware and fully repair systems in a variety of scenarios. Malwarebytes Free was the only one to fully clean and repair the system every time.

The tests were designed to simulate real-world experiences. In the first, Malwarebytes Free was installed 30 separate times onto a Windows 7 machine, each time with a new threat present. The second deactivated Malwarebytes on 30 separate machines, installed 30 different threats, and reactivated it. Malwarebytes Free completely removed every trace of the infection, 100% of the time.

AV-TEST operates out of Magdeburg, Germany, and has been conducting security industry testing since 2004. The independent institute, which focuses on analyzing the performance of security products against the latest malicious software, has a team of nearly 30 specialists in laboratories processing over 1,000 terabytes of data.
