Can Your Security Software Block Exploit Attacks?

You don’t have to be a brilliant programmer to get into the botnet business. Just purchase one of the many available exploit kits and you’re ready to roll. You can even rent an exploit kit or a whole botnet. A typical exploit kit contains numerous attacks that gain control of victim computers through security holes in the operating system, in the browser, or in common applications. If you fail to keep your software updated, a security suite is your only defense. A recent test by China-based PC Security Labs showed that some products are much more effective than others at this particular task.
