Malwarebytes Tops $100 Million Run-Rate

  • More than 100 percent growth in 2015 annual revenue
  • Thousands of businesses and 500 million downloads
  • Enterprise sales double and average deal size grows 75 percent
  • Q4 will be the 31st quarter generating positive cash flow from operations

SAN JOSE, Calif. – December 9, 2015 – Malwarebytes™, the cybersecurity software company that prevents and remediates malware for both people and businesses, today announced that annualized billing has surpassed $100 million, with a corporate sales growth rate of more than 100 percent and while generating positive cash flow.

“In the last year, Malwarebytes has grown and matured in unprecedented fashion,” said Marcin Kleczynski, CEO of Malwarebytes. “We are best known for our consumer products but our fastest growth area is in enterprise, where companies have realized that ’removal and remediation’ must be a part of your security arsenal.”

In 2015, the Malwarebytes product line expanded to include purpose-built business products that now protect thousands of small, midsized and enterprise businesses worldwide.

“The success of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Business, Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit for Business and Malwarebytes Endpoint Security products has driven our billing run-rate to over $100m and revenue up well over 100 percent,” said Mark Harris, CFO of Malwarebytes. “Our corporate billing base continues to grow by more than 100 percent, whilst enterprise account sales are growing even faster. As a result, our average deal size has increased by over 75 percent.”

“Such is the high demand for Malwarebytes products that the company continues to grow while remaining cash flow positive. This will be our 31st cash positive quarter in a row, a rarity for a company growing as fast as we are,” continued Harris.

Kleczynski expects even higher growth in enterprise sales as larger and larger businesses continue to turn to Malwarebytes’ innovative approach to security and malware removal, and Malwarebytes responds by investing even further in products, sales and support, specifically for these enterprise customers.

“Small- and midsized businesses (SMBs) knew they could never protect against everything, and that their antivirus solutions would fail at points,” said Kleczynski. “Large enterprise Chief Information Security Officers are turning to Malwarebytes as they shift to a “we are already compromised” mindset and look to solve the problem of malware on their networks quickly and effectively. Malwarebytes allows them to go ‘malware hunting’, drastically reduce dwell time, and then resolve the problem. Now they can also increase their security with our award-winning protection products.”

In 2015, downloads of Malwarebytes products surpassed 500 million. Collectively detecting more than 500,000 infections per hour, the solutions have removed more than five billion pieces of malware and saved more than 750 million IT hours. Distributed globally, Malwarebytes now has more than 30 million active users.
